A Beautiful Twilight Wedding in Kent
Lana and Andrew’s wedding was one of those days that leaves you with a smile on your face. They tied the knot in Kent, which meant a little trip across the River Thames for me—a pleasant journey that kicked off a memorable day.
The day started bright and early at Lana’s mum and dad’s house. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, with plenty of time for everyone to get ready. With the wedding planned for later in the day, there was no rush, just a lovely vibe of excitement and anticipation. Lana was surrounded by her family, everyone chatting, laughing, and taking their time to soak in the moments.
As the preparations were wrapping up, an absolutely stunning 1930s Studebaker pulled up. What a car! Lana travelled to the venue in style, and it set the tone for the whole day—elegant and classic with a touch of vintage charm.
The venue, The Moat, is a charming pub with a gorgeous old barn and a taproom bar, perfect for both the ceremony and reception. When I arrived, Andrew was busy greeting guests, looking sharp and excited. We had a bit of time to snap some photos around the venue before he met with the registrars, and not long after, Lana made her entrance.
The ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, with personal vows that had everyone, including myself, a little misty-eyed. It’s these personal touches that make weddings so special. In no time, they were pronounced husband and wife and made their way back down the aisle, officially kicking off the celebrations.
After some lovely family group shots, including one big group photo of everyone together, I whisked Lana and Andrew away for some more intimate couple portraits. It’s always such a nice moment because it’s the first time the couple has a bit of breathing room during the day—well, sort of. I’m there, of course, but it’s still a quiet moment for them to be together.
Once the portraits were done, we headed back inside for the speeches. These were, as expected, incredibly moving. The father of the bride’s speech was especially touching—his love for Lana was evident as his voice cracked with emotion. There’s something so powerful about hearing these public declarations of love and pride.
After the speeches, the evening guests began to arrive, and we moved swiftly into the first dance. Before I knew it, my part of the night was over, but I left them dancing and celebrating with their guests, capturing one final portrait at the entrance to the venue as a lovely way to end the evening.
The cherry on top? Waking up the next morning to a sweet message from Lana, thanking me and saying they had the best time and couldn’t wait to see the photos. It’s moments like that which remind me why I love what I do.
Lana and Andrew’s twilight wedding was truly one for the books—filled with love, laughter, and those small but meaningful moments that make a wedding day unforgettable. I can’t wait to share the full gallery with them soon!
